Obituary
Brittney Fleming, 24, of Baltimore, MD passed away suddenly on April 5, 2019. Brittney’s gifts of perseverance and joyfulness became evident when she was young and inspired many throughout her life. After losing her birth parents as a small child, Brittney was raised by her devoted extended family. Brittney will be remembered as a child who enjoyed laughing and playing with her many cousins and friends. Brittney studied at North County High School and dreamed of careers in the fashion industry or photography.
After high school, Brittney was the queen of Charles Village & Station North. Known by her mother, Myshay Lee, as both hard headed and big hearted, she was a beacon of light to the large and connected community she built, putting smiles on everyone’s faces regardless of race, religion, gender, or creed. Brittney was generous and quick to help others around her. She was passionate about the needs of transgender youth, homeless people, and people battling addiction. Brittney was particularly kind to those that needed a listening ear and more than once, offered support to other youth who credit Brittney with saving their lives. Brittney was a rock and a source of inspiration to all who knew her.
Brittney now joins her beloved sister, London, to watch over us, and is survived by her mother Myshay Lee; godfather Toronto; step father Joshua Smith; sisters Dayior Gray, Kamiya Taylor, Da’Nisha Brooks, Emani Lee, Jaydin D’oir, Crystal Jones, Alex, Shannyn Garland, Mykia Lassiter, Mya, and Ivey; brothers Mussani Taylor, Qea Love, Cody Banks, and Derick; and mentor Ava Pipitone. Brittney is also survived by her great aunt Juanita Taylor and her aunt Danita Taylor and many other loving relatives. She will be truly missed forever.
